Corporate Learning Guide - Financial Services in London

Have you spent a career in banking, insurance, or financial services—and accumulated a few stories along the way?

Falcons of Fitzrovia (FOF) is looking for an experienced financial-services professional to help us deliver a new kind of corporate learning experience through the streets and institutions of London.

This is not a conventional tour-guide role.

We are developing an immersive Banking & Insurance experience that explores how London became one of the world's great financial centers—using museums, historic locations, real objects and stories to examine the development of money, trust, credit, risk, crisis, and financial institutions.

Our guests will include corporate teams, graduate and intern cohorts, executives and international business groups.

The experience combines museum learning with an e-bike journey through the City of London, turning London itself into the classroom.

Who we're looking for:

We'd love to hear from someone who has spent a substantial part of their career in banking, insurance or the wider financial-services industry and would now enjoy sharing that knowledge with others.

This role may particularly suit a retired or semi-retired senior financial-services professional, although retirement certainly isn't a requirement.

You might have been a Managing Director, Partner, senior banker, insurer, broker, investment professional, accountant, consultant or senior executive.

Your precise job title matters less to us than your experience and your ability to communicate it.

Qualifications

You'll ideally have:

• Significant professional experience within banking, insurance, or financial services
• Confidence speaking to groups and facilitating discussion
• Strong communication and storytelling skills
• An interest in London's history and the development of its financial institutions
• The ability to make complicated ideas understandable without turning them into a lecture
• Confidence riding a bicycle and willingness to lead groups on e-bikes through central London
• A warm, curious personality and an ability to engage everyone from a 21-year-old graduate to a senior executive

You don't need to be a historian or an experienced tour guide. We'll teach you the tour. That said, if you're an experienced tour guide or educator with banking and financial-services knowledge, we'd very much like to hear from you.

FOF provides the historical research, route, museums, artefacts, training and storytelling framework.

What we're looking for is something rather harder to teach:

Experience.

We want someone who understands financial services because they've actually lived and worked inside that world—and who can connect that experience to the extraordinary story of how London's financial system developed.

Our approach starts with people and objects rather than lectures.

OBJECT → HUMAN → PURPOSE → STORY → SOCIETY

A banknote isn't merely currency. A cheque isn't simply a piece of paper. An insurance policy isn't just a contract.

Each exists because human beings had a problem to solve — trust, exchange, credit, risk or security.

That's the story we want our guides to bring alive.

The Role

You'll be trained to deliver FOF's Banking & Insurance Corporate Learning Experience, combining museum objects, historic locations and your own professional insight.

You'll lead and facilitate groups, encourage conversation, handle and explain historical artefacts and help guests connect London's financial past with the institutions and ideas they work with today.

Most importantly, we don't want you to memorise a script.

We want you to understand the experience, know the evidence and then tell the story naturally in your own voice.

Pay

£50 per hour — freelance

Assignments will initially be on an ad-hoc basis, with opportunities increasing as FOF expands its Corporate Learning programme.
