An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-established and growing organisation based in the outskirts of Reading. We are looking for a driven and ambitious Analyst with around 2+ years' experience who is eager to develop their career in a commercially focused environment. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who has gained at least 2+ years analyst experience and is now ready to take the next step into a role that offers real exposure to business strategy, financial modelling, and project decision-making.
What you'll be doing:
- Financial Modelling
- Maintain, and improve advanced Excel-based financial models, ensuring they are robust, auditable, and user-friendly.
- Manage multi-year Excel financial models to support long-term planning.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial models, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Gather inputs for Financial Modelling, maintaining records and audit trails.
- Manage day to day Team requests.
- Commercial Analysis
- Assess financial risks, opportunities, and the impact of business strategies.
- Review cost inputs provided by Operations and Sales, sense checking and providing feedback.
- Engage in bid pricing and summarising key financial metrics to enable deal approval.
- Contract & Reporting Support
- Process contract variations in accordance with laid down commercial parameters and seeking formal approval.
- Support financial reporting of long-term contracts both internally and externally.
- Update financial models to reflect contract variations and revised business plans.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to gather data and ensure model accuracy.
- Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
- Present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Approach all work with a disciplined, analytical mindset, always asking whether outputs make commercial sense.
- Question assumptions with confidence, push back where necessary and engage stakeholders in a professional fact-based manner.
Experience needed:
- Around 2+ years' experience in an analytical or finance role.
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, modelling, data manipulation).
- An interest in commercial finance and business strategy.
- Understanding of key financial concepts (e.g., discounted cash flow, IRR, NPV).
- A numerical, analytical, and inquisitive mindset.
- Strong communication skills - able to present complex data clearly.
