Our established and highly successful client is working with us on an exclusive basis to recruit an experienced Demand Planner.
In this key role, you will effectively maintain an ordering pattern that provides sufficient stock levels for a variable demand product portfolio, while meeting targets for product availability and stock holding value.
You will be responsible for vendor deliveries, ensuring parts arrive on time and in full while monitoring any arrears and progress chasing these so past dues are kept to a minimum.
The role also has the responsibility of coordinating the department activities and driving improvements and projects to support the attainment of department KPIs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership over assigned group of products, monitoring the supply in line with company targets, placing POs where needed, and mitigating risk.
- Work closely with the wider business to fully understand the demand on products and inventory levels.
- Become an expert on the full supply chain for assigned products to mitigate risk and maximize opportunity.
- Develop key relationships with both internal and external teams to monitor and track inventory.
- Maintain accurate and efficient stock levels in line with company targets.
- Develop, track, and report on a suite of KPIs.
- Ensure a high level of service to internal customers.
- Produce stock forecasts and communicate supplemental demand forecasts.
- Continuously review and analyze stock management (including active stocks, range updates, aged stocks, and new/promo lines).
- Run requisition reports daily for your product category, ensuring all parts are ordered where possible.
- Monitor and drive down back order/arrears situations with your suppliers each week and chase where required, keeping past dues to a minimum and ensuring stock is then delivered.
- Attend relevant category meetings with Vendor Management and communicate any actions for the Demand Planning team.
- With forecast and other information from the manager, work with Vendor Management to deliver spot/tactical buys to help reduce COGS.
- Participate in vendor visits both onsite and offsite, building a solid working relationship with your relevant vendor contacts.
- Mentor the team to provide business continuity and personal development.
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of the principles of Supply Chain Management and Demand Planning.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, especially with Commercial, Sales, Warehouse, and Suppliers.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft systems and processes.
- Understanding the relationship between Demand Planning and the impact on warehouse efficiency.
- Experience in a Demand Planning role in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
- Experience with SAP is desirable.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Awareness.
