Job Description

Construction and Engineering Lead

The Construction and Engineering Lead will lead DT/ Construction and Engineering lessons and activities including leading relevant qualifications e.g. BTEC Level 1 and Level 2.

Hours: Term time only, 35 hours per week

Salary: £34,398 + £2,787 SEN allowance

As the Construction and Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Plan and prepare courses and lessons in accordance with the defined curriculum of the school
  • Teach, according to their educational needs, the students assigned to you, including the setting and marking of work to be carried out by students at school or elsewhere
  • Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of students
  • Promote the general progress and well-being of individual students and any class or group of students assigned to you
  • Take responsibility for financial arrangements for school trips or visits, as defined in the school's
  • financial regulations, where the teacher has agreed to be involved with such a trip or visit.

The successful Construction and Engineering Lead will have the following related skills / experience:

  • DCFS recognised qualified teacher status or equivalent professional experience of teaching Construction and Engineering
  • Evidence of effective SEN teaching over a wide range of needs including SEMH
  • A sound curriculum knowledge and understanding of key strategies for effective teaching and learning of Construction and Engineering
