We are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or college leaver to join our clients busy finance team as a Trainee Finance Administrator. This law firm is seeking someone with strong numeracy skills and a genuine interest in developing a career in finance within a supportive and professional environment. You will be based in the Wokingham office but travel to our Farnham and Reading office may occasionally be required.

As a Trainee Finance Administrator, you will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing outward CHAPS and BACS payments
  • Allocating client receipts accurately
  • Completing bank reconciliations
  • Taking card payments from clients, both over the telephone and in person
  • Processing purchase ledger invoices on the accounts system
  • Posting office disbursements, including Land Registry fees, court fees, and search fees
  • Banking client and office cheques and cash as required
  • Processing Counsel fee notes onto the purchase ledger and relevant client ledgers
  • Monitoring and responding to queries via the shared accounts inbox

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) level education (including Maths and English Language)
  • Driver with own car
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent IT skills: - Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Willingness to complete compliance exercises specifically relating to the Solicitors
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in finance
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to liaise at all levels of the organisation
