Working pattern: 30 hours a week, Monday - Friday, term time only. 8.30am to 2.30pm

This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a great school serving meals for up to 200 pupils. You will work closely with the Chef Manager in preparing and serving food, assisting in placing orders.

Your role as School Cook will be to:

  • Prepare and cook fresh meals
  • Provide exceptional standards in all aspects of food service
  • Ensure all meals are produced on time for the service requirements
  • Prepare food in accordance with school policies and procedures and relevant legislation
  • Prepare and clear the dining facilities as instructed by the Chef Manager in line with pre-agreed seating/serving plans
  • Ensure that the kitchen, dining halls, equipment and utensils are all properly cleaned and correctly stored away
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and that any defects are reported promptly to the Chef Manager or Head of Operations in their absence
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels
  • Receive and check deliveries
  • Ensure all appropriate temperature checks are carried out and recorded
  • Assist in washing up, clearing and cleaning of the kitchen
  • Ensure that a high standard of hygiene is maintained in the kitchen
  • Ensure all Health & Safety guidelines are adhered to

  • Essential - Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Experience of preparing and serving large volumes of meals
