Our highly successful client is growing, and they now need an experienced HGV/LCV/car Technician to join their dedicated team. Our client offers a great team environment and has a modern workshop. You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the company's fleet of HGVs, LCVs, and company cars. This role would suit someone who is comfortable working on cars, vans, and trucks, but training will be provided if you have some of the experience.
Hours: Mon-Fri 7.30-4.30pm
Main Duties:
- Vehicle Inspections
- Fault finding, repairs & servicing of commercial vehicles and trailers
- Vehicle servicing to vehicle manufacturing standards
- PMI and brake testing for trucks
- Weigh and LOLER testing for tall lift vehicles
- Completion of all relevant paperwork ensuring that all work undertaken is compliant
- Use of diagnostic equipment
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
Skills required:
- If you are a HGV Technician you must be fully skilled with industry recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three) in heavy vehicle service, maintenance and repair
- 2 years' experience as an HGV Mechanic (Post Qualification)
- HGV (class 2) licence holder
- HGV / PMI and brake test qualified
- Brake test qualified
- Weight and LOLER certified
- NVQ in vehicle mechanics
- General competence for general servicing and maintenance
- High level of communication
- Basic knowledge of computers and fleet diagnostics
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
- Must have the right to work in the UK
- Brake experience (training can be given)
- MOT preparation experience
- Modern mechanical and electrical diagnostics and fault-finding
- Accurate and timely defect reporting
