Part-Time Librarian / Library Assistant Temporary | Wednesday-Friday, 12pm-6pm 4th September - 16th October 2026 We are currently recruiting for a Part-Time Librarian / Library Assistant to join a busy school library on a temporary basis until the October half term. This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day running of the library, assisting students with research and reading and ensuring a welcoming, organised environment. You will work alongside another member of the library team for part of the day before taking responsibility for supervising the library during the afternoon. Key responsibilities include: Supervising students within the library, including after-school study periods Assisting students and staff with enquiries, research and library resources Issuing, returning and shelving books and other resources Cataloguing and processing new resources Creating and maintaining displays and noticeboards Supporting the Head Librarian with the general running of the library Maintaining stationery stocks and completing general administrative duties Ensuring appropriate standards of behaviour and a safe, welcoming library environment The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience within a library, school, education or similar environment Strong communication and organisational skills Confidence working independently and supervising students Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 A friendly, approachable and professional manner The ability to start at short notice and commit to the duration of the temporary assignment Hours:
