Job Description

Our client is is a passionate, remote-only indie studio crafting an innovative project using the Godot Game Engine. Our mission is to create a visually stunning, near-photorealistic game that delights players and empowers developers worldwide. This is a love-letter to the gaming industry, and we're seeking talented, like-minded developers to join us on this exciting journey through prototyping, investment, development, and launch!

Position: Godot Game Developer (Remote)

Type: Flexible - Temporary (day rates) or long-term (shares/revenue splits)

Location: Fully remote, work from anywhere! (we are currently in the UK & Germany)

What You'll Do

As a Godot Game Developer, you'll help bring our vision to life by contributing to our prototype and beyond. We're looking for expertise in Godot, using GDScript to create breathtaking gaming experiences. Key areas of focus include:

  • Feature Implementation: Build the features that define the project - Logic, UI, and asset integration.
  • UX Design: Design intuitive, player-friendly interfaces and interactions.
  • Improve Team Productivity: Build Godot Addons, GDExtensions or other tools to make building the Project easier.
  • Lighting & Reflections: Create dynamic, realistic lighting to elevate the player experience.
  • Integrate 3rd Party Platforms: Integrate the Project with every major Platform like Steam or Xbox.
  • Shader Development: Craft stunning, near-photorealistic visuals with custom shaders.
  • Level Design & Creation: Build immersive, engaging game environments.
  • Asset Creation & Management: Develop and optimize assets for seamless integration.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience with:
    • Godot Game Engine
    • GDScript
  • Experience with the following is a plus:
    • Godot Shader Language
    • Blender
    • C++
  • A portfolio showcasing beautiful, high-quality game projects (near-photorealistic visuals a plus).
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: shader development, level design, asset creation, lighting/reflections, or UX design.
  • Passion for indie gaming and collaborative, creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong communication skills.
