Role – We are looking for an experienced Workday Extend Developer to join a high-impact project. This role will focus on the design, development, and deployment of custom applications using Workday Extend , driving innovation and enabling long-term in-house capability within the client’s Workday ecosystem. This is a hands-on development role that also includes a strong mentorship element , guiding internal teams on best practices and helping build their confidence and competence in Workday Extend.
Key skills:
- Delivered at least 1–2 Workday Extend projects in a development capacity.
- Deep understanding of Workday\’s object model and XPath .
- Hands-on experience with Workday Studio , EIB , Core Connectors , and REST/SOAP APIs .
- Strong programming foundation, ideally with JavaScript or another OOP language.
- Familiarity with Workday\’s security framework , including domain and business process policies.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and web service integrations.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience supporting training or mentorship activities.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems in a collaborative, agile environment.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices .
- Exposure to CI/CD processes for Workday Extend (e.g., Git, Jenkins, test automation).
- Knowledge of Workday Prism Analytics or Workday Reporting .
- Awareness of Workday UX best practices and People Experience features.
- Understanding of data privacy and industry regulations applicable to insurance.
- Workday certifications in Extend , Integrations , or Core HCM .
- Strong communication skills (oral & written)
- Rights to work in the UK is must (No Sponsorship available)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy scalable, custom applications using Workday Extend , tailored to insurance-sector business needs.
- Work closely with business analysts and functional teams to convert requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure all development aligns with Workday’s security, architectural , and integration standards .
- Build reusable components, templates, and utilities to support future development efforts.
- Contribute across the full SDLC: design, prototyping, development, testing, deployment, and documentation.
- Monitor application health, resolve issues, and ensure high availability and performance.
- Ensure smooth integration of Extend apps with existing Workday modules.
- Lead knowledge transfer activities including workshops, walkthroughs, and code reviews.
