We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Tester to support our clientβs UK Smart Metering operations. This role involves hands-on lab work, precise execution of test protocols, and effective collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure reliable firmware performance across a range of smart metering technologies.
Key skills:
- 8+ years of experience in Firmware smart meter testing.
- Deep understanding of UK smart metering systems and DCC Service Requests.
- Experience with tools such as Salesforce, Waypoint, and the DCC Self Service Interface.
- Familiarity with smart energy technologies and consumer electronics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively without supervision.
- Methodical, proactive, and resourceful problem-solving approach.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Consulting background is a plus.
- Rights to work in the UK is a must (No Sponsorship available).
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detail-oriented testing of smart meter business processes to ensure functional integrity.
- Execute defined test plans, document results, and accurately report defects with supporting evidence.
- Generate comprehensive test exit reports outlining issues and outcomes.
- Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to replicate, analyze, and troubleshoot issues.
- Communicate progress, blockers, and findings clearly and proactively to project stakeholders.
- Set up and dismantle test environments, including test account configurations.
- Provide on-site lab support for remote testers, including hardware installation and meter configuration (e.g., physical interaction with devices).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and operational test environment.
