We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced ET SCADA Tester to join our Engineering or QA team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and functionality of ET (Energy Technology) SCADA systems through systematic testing and validation. This includes both manual and automated testing across hardware-software integrated systems in the energy and utilities sector.
Key skills:
- 5+ years of experience in testing SCADA systems or industrial control systems.
- Strong understanding of ET/SCADA architecture, protocols, and control logic.
- Hands-on experience with testing tools (e.g., Wireshark, Selenium, custom SCADA test suites).
- Knowledge of PLCs, RTUs, and communication interfaces (e.g., OPC, DNP3, Modbus, IEC).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity testing and compliance in critical infrastructure.
- ISTQB or similar software testing certification.
- Experience with automation scripting (e.g., Python, Shell, or batch scripting).
- Previous experience in the energy, utilities, or smart grid sector.
- Familiarity with cloud-based SCADA solutions or remote monitoring platforms.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Consulting background is a plus.
- Rights to work in the UK is a must (No Sponsorship available).
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for SCADA systems and ET software components.
- Perform system integration, regression, performance, and functional testing.
- Validate data acquisition, control logic, and alarm/event handling within SCADA systems.
- Collaborate with development, integration, and field engineering teams to identify and troubleshoot defects.
- Work with simulators and real-time hardware environments to conduct end-to-end testing.
- Document test results, defect reports, and quality metrics.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as IEC 61850, DNP3, and Modbus protocols.
- Participate in system upgrades, patch validations, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
