As an NPD Assistant, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the team across all areas of new product development – from concept right through to the finished product hitting the shelves. Your work will involve everything from testing and documentation to kitchen experiments and customer-facing presentations.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure product development stays on track and on time.
- Working closely with customers to make sure their requirements and expectations are met.
- Supporting the implementation of Product Development processes, completing documentation, and ensuring everything is kept up to date.
- Participating in taste panels, benchmarking sessions, and conducting regular product quality reviews.
- Preparing samples for customer presentations, ensuring everything is pitch-perfect.
- Maintaining an organised, efficient development kitchen, including managing stock and ordering raw materials as needed.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- A food-related degree and a passion for product development.
- Experience in an NPD or similar technologist role.

- A hands‑on approach – you’ll be involved in every stage of product development and will need to work proactively to solve problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills – you’ll be interacting with internal teams and external clients regularly.
- Numerical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- A driving licence and willingness to travel both in the UK and globally.
