A true leader in the food sector, my client is a growing, multi-site, branded business with an excellent reputation for innovation and quality. Critical to the business success is their food offering and all of the non-food items that are used behind the scenes.
They are looking for a Category Buying Manager to manage a range of food and beverage categories. Reporting into a Senior Procurement Manager, you will support with data on insight to support timely and cost-competitive procurement of materials in line with designated specifications and organisational priorities. This role will ensure alignment and that the necessary procurement processes, discipline, and governance on regional/local spend items are adhered to in order to achieve significant savings.
Candidates will have a degree-level qualification ideally in business management or a technical area. You will need to have previous experience as a Buyer/Procurement Manager within a food/retail or foodservice environment. The ability to understand technical issues associated with purchasing and supply is essential, and candidates will need to be hugely commercial.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with other departments, suppliers, and franchisees is key, as is the ability to work in a team environment in order to achieve revenue, profit, and growth targets. Most importantly, you will be curious, engaging, and able to connect with people across the business, with solid Buying/Procurement experience that allows you to quickly establish yourself within the team.
