Excellent opportunity for a Food Science graduate with 1-2 years industry experience looking to work for a global food business. My client is looking to recruit a Development Technologist on a 6-12 month contract to strengthen the team. This is a hands-on role driving continuous product and process improvements. Reporting to the R&D Manager, you will be responsible for managing the technical interface and relationship with Key Accounts.
Using your knowledge of key ingredients, you will be responsible for developing innovative and commercially viable coatings, seasoning blends, binders and thickeners.
Job Accountabilities:
- Develop key customer relationships through a detailed understanding of their markets, products, processes and online capabilities and constraints.
- Develop products for customers either from specific briefs or concept ideas.
- Provide online support and development at customer’s production facilities.
- Drive continuous improvement in process and product.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of key ingredients and their functions.
- Develop a full understanding of the Company’s capabilities and knowledge of the production and quality standards required.
- Undertake NPD projects.
- Have a sound technical knowledge of the usage of our products (processing, storage, etc.).
- Have a sound understanding of the Company’s capabilities (production limitations, company strategy, personnel limitations, etc.).
- Proactively research new market trends and product concepts relevant to Key Customer Accounts.
- Work within the prescribed development system (Recipe Management System, filing, etc.).
- Support the team by assisting in other areas to prevent overloading of work when required.
This is the ideal role for a Food Science graduate with 1-2 years industry experience looking to join a large growing food business. The role is site-based five days a week and is paying £28-30k.
