Night Team Member

Role Overview

The Night Porter is responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the hotel during overnight hours.

This role combines customer service, security, maintenance, housekeeping, and administrative responsibilities to deliver a high standard of guest care and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular security patrols, monitor CCTV systems, and maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, staff, and hotel property.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting with enquiries, requests, and resolving any issues that arise during the night shift.
  • Carry out minor maintenance tasks, including replacing light bulbs, addressing basic plumbing issues, and reporting or resolving maintenance concerns where appropriate.
  • Maintain cleanliness of public areas, replenish supplies, and ensure the property remains presentable throughout the night.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including fire alarms, medical incidents, and other situations, following hotel procedures and health and safety guidelines.
  • Complete overnight administrative duties, including preparing reports, updating records, and conducting the night audit.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management, ensuring all incidents, maintenance issues, and guest concerns are accurately recorded and handed over.
  • Support the overall overnight operation of the hotel, contributing to a safe, welcoming, and well-managed environment for guests and staff.
