The Bedford Hotel Belfast is seeking an experienced Breakfast Chef to join its exceptional opening team. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of Belfast’s most anticipated boutique hotel openings.

Opening early 2026, The Bedford Hotel Belfast will be a prestigious boutique hotel set within the iconic Scottish Mutual Building in the heart of the city. With 82 beautifully appointed bedrooms, a destination restaurant, café/bar, and exclusive private dining rooms, The Bedford Hotel Belfast will set new standards for hospitality in Northern Ireland.

Role Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the preparation and service of breakfast for our guests, delivering each dish to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Working in accordance with the specifications and systems established by the Head Chef, you will ensure that all breakfasts are prepared to exacting standards.
  • You will also uphold full compliance with all Health and Safety and food hygiene regulations, adhering strictly to the hotel’s established procedures and policies at all times.
  • Ensure all ordering is completed for the breakfast kitchen.
  • Support the Head Chef in ensuring the efficient and effective running of the kitchen.
  • Prepare breakfasts to the highest standard whilst keeping the guests’ expectations at the forefront of your mind.
  • Keep your mise en place levels up to the required level whilst rotating stock.
  • Be mindful of waste, always seek help to utilise all food and minimise waste.
  • Report any faults or defects as you see them.
  • Maintain a high standard of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene practices.
  • Ensure that you are correctly dressed in uniform.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with all departments across the hotel.
  • To train, where necessary, any chefs in the breakfast service kitchen.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Breakfast Chef or in a similar chef role within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
  • Strong culinary skills with the ability to prepare and present high-quality breakfast dishes to consistent standards.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work efficiently during busy morning service periods.
  • Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a small kitchen team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Flexibility and reliability, with a proactive and professional attitude.
