Up to £50,000 Hybrid, Shoreham-by-Sea

We’ll be honest — this isn’t a role for someone who wants to sit in a support function waiting for cases to land. This is a role for someone who wants to own a real people remit, shape how a large operational function runs, and genuinely influence the direction of a fast-growing business.

Here’s a bit about us: Focus Group is one of the UK’s fastest-growing independent tech businesses. We’re £300m in revenue, 1,300 people strong, and backed by Hg Capital following our $1bn valuation in 2024. We serve over 30,000 SME customers across the UK and we’re not slowing down. Our People & Culture team plays a central role in how we scale — and right now, we’re looking for a Senior People Advisor dedicated to our Operations function.

What does the role actually look like? You’ll be the go-to for people managers across Operations. That means owning ER casework end-to-end, coaching managers through complex situations, and building their capability so they don’t need to come to HR for everything. But it’s more than ER. You’ll work closely with our Senior People Business Partner to deliver the Operations people plan — taking ownership of real projects, supporting organisational change, and helping us embed new ways of working as the business evolves.

This is a role with genuine breadth. One day you’re navigating a tricky disciplinary, the next you’re contributing to a restructure or redesigning how we run performance cycles across a 600+ person function.

You’ll thrive here if you:

  • Have proven ER experience and advise managers with confidence and credibility
  • Take ownership of projects — you don’t wait to be chased, you drive things to completion
  • Are a natural coach who builds trust quickly and challenges constructively
  • Have supported organisational change, including restructures
  • Are data-driven and commercially curious — you use insight, not just instinct
  • Love a fast-paced environment where no two weeks look the same

Bonus points if you’ve worked in an operational environment or within a PE-backed or high-growth business before.

What we’re offering: A genuine seat at the table in a business that’s going places.

If this sounds like the kind of role you’ve been waiting for — or if you know someone who’d be perfect — we’d love to hear from you.
