This is a fantastic opportunity for a communications expert to shape internal and external messaging, lead on media relations, and play a key role in protecting and promoting the organisation’s reputation.
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced communicator with a background in internal communications and public relations, ideally within a complex organisation. If you’re proactive, strategic, and thrive in a fast-paced, values-led environment, this could be the ideal next step.
Key responsibilities for the Communications and PR Manager:- Support the Director of Marketing and Student Recruitment, representing the marketing and comms function both internally and externally.
- Lead on all internal communications, developing strategy, managing platforms, and collaborating across departments to engage staff and support organisational change.
- Create and manage high-quality content for a wide range of channels including newsletters, press releases, social media, speeches, and internal briefings.
- Develop and deliver an effective PR strategy, building media relationships, handling press enquiries, and managing reputation through proactive and crisis communications.
- Monitor communications performance, media sentiment, and sector trends to inform strategy, ensure brand alignment, and identify opportunities for positive exposure.
- Senior-level experience in communications or PR, ideally within education or the public sector.
- Expertise in internal communications, employee engagement, and media relations.
- Excellent writing, editing, and content adaptation skills across multiple platforms.
- Strong crisis communication skills and sound judgement under pressure.
- Organised, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
