You’ll lead a multi-disciplinary team, ensure the operation runs efficiently and create a consistently high-quality customer experience.

The Role

As Business Manager, you will be the key point of accountability for the day-to-day running of the site. You will be responsible for:

  • The overall commercial performance of the business
  • Revenue targets and sales performance
  • P&L and operating efficiency
  • Sales conversion and customer journey performance
  • Diary, capacity and resource utilisation
  • Team leadership and performance
  • Customer experience and site presentation

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the day-to-day running and commercial performance of the site
  • Own revenue targets, sales numbers, KPIs and overall business performance
  • Manage and understand the site P&L, budgets and operating costs
  • Drive sales performance, conversion and customer journey metrics
  • Maximise diary, capacity and resource utilisation
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, revenue and profitability
  • Manage team performance, timekeeping, rotas and resource planning
  • Own the customer experience from initial arrival through to completion of the customer journey
  • Lead daily team meetings and ensure the team is aligned on priorities and performance
  • Monitor performance throughout the day and take action to address gaps or issues
  • Work closely with Head Office and senior stakeholders on targets, performance and business improvement
  • Oversee local stock, ordering and operating requirements

A Typical Day

Your day could include:

  • Leading the morning team huddle and setting the agenda for the day
  • Reviewing performance against revenue and sales targets
  • Driving capacity and diary utilisation
  • Reviewing conversion and customer journey performance
  • Managing team rotas, timekeeping and resource utilisation
  • Supporting and challenging team members to deliver against their KPIs
  • Monitoring the customer experience and overall presentation of the site
  • Reviewing operating costs and commercial performance
  • Working with Head Office on targets, performance and opportunities for improvement

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who can genuinely run a business or site as if it were their own. You’ll ideally have experience managing a customer-facing business, site, unit or operation and be comfortable taking responsibility for the numbers. We’re particularly interested in people who have:

  • Proven experience managing the overall performance of a business, site, branch or unit
  • Genuine accountability for P&L, revenue, sales numbers and commercial performance
  • A strong understanding of KPIs, conversion, utilisation and profitability
  • Experience leading and developing a multi-disciplinary team
  • A commercially minded and sales-focused approach

  • High standards when it comes to customer experience and presentation
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • The confidence to challenge performance and hold people accountable
  • A calm, professional approach when dealing with pressure or escalations
  • Experience within healthcare, retail or a similar regulated customer-facing environment would be advantageous, but it is not essential.

Commercial leadership, sales performance and the ability to run a successful business are what really matter.
