Focus 360 Energy is a fast-growing, multidisciplinary consultancy providing full end-to-end compliance solutions for the built environment — from early planning through to handover and in-use operation. We specialise in SAP, SBEM, TM59/TM52 Overheating, and Energy Statement assessments for new-build and conversion projects.
Our clients range from architects and developers to housing associations and commercial landlords, with projects spanning single dwellings, multi-unit developments, and large commercial estates.
We specialise in:
- Energy & Sustainability Assessments (SAP, SBEM, EPC, Energy Statements)
- Overheating (TM59 / TM52)
- Whole Life-Cycle Carbon & Circular Economy Statements
- Daylight & Sunlight Assessments
- Decarbonisation & Net Zero Strategies
- BREEAM, Planning, and Environmental Compliance
We’re now expanding our in-house sustainability team to support national growth and new major partnerships — including high-profile portfolios such as MOD, Camden Market, Trident Group (900+ commercial buildings), and St Austell Brewery.
As a Sustainability Specialist, you’ll play a key role in delivering our energy and sustainability services, supporting clients from early design through to post-construction. You’ll collaborate with assessors, architects, and developers, providing technical expertise across SAP, SBEM, and IES modelling.
This role also offers exposure to wider sustainability initiatives, including Whole Life-Cycle Carbon, BREEAM, and Decarbonisation strategies — with clear professional development pathways into these areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out SAP and SBEM calculations and produce EPCs for domestic and non-domestic buildings
- Prepare Energy Statements for planning submissions (including London Plan compliance)
- Conduct Overheating Assessments in line with TM59 and TM52
- Support or lead on Whole Life-Cycle Carbon Assessments and Circular Economy Statements
- Undertake Daylight & Sunlight Modelling for residential and mixed-use developments
- Assist in producing Decarbonisation Reports and Net Zero Strategies for large-scale commercial estates
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, and design teams to provide clear technical advice
- Contribute to mentoring junior assessors and developing internal methodologies
About You
We’re looking for someone proactive, technically skilled, and commercially aware — someone who wants to grow within a business that values initiative and ambition. We’re particularly interested in candidates with strong technical modelling experience — rather than general sustainability or ESG backgrounds.
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience producing SAP, SBEM or TM59 assessments for UK Building Regulation compliance
- Proficiency with IES-VE, Elmhurst, or equivalent SAP/SBEM/TM59 software
- Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations Part L and energy compliance frameworks
- Experience preparing Energy Statements for planning
- Degree in Environmental Design, Building Physics, or Sustainability Engineering
Desirable:
- Experience with BREEAM (Assessor or AP) or willingness to requalify (supported)
- Familiarity with OneClick LCA, TM54, or energy auditing (ESOS)
- Experience producing Whole Life-Cycle Carbon or Decarbonisation Reports
- Knowledge of daylight/sunlight or natural ventilation modelling
What We Offer
- Structured training programme with clear development milestones
- Fully remote working (with optional London meet-ups)
- Company-provided equipment (phone and laptop)
- Private medical insurance
- Professional memberships (IES, Elmhurst, CIBSE) covered
- 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
- Quarterly team days and industry events in London
- Genuine progression opportunities — including leading your own sustainability team as we scale
