Within a cross-functional scrum agile team, you will work within the software development team in Nottingham. You will apply different testing methodologies such as functional, end-to-end, regression, exploratory, etc., raising defects where appropriate. You will have an inquisitive mind with an ability to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions. As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you are responsible for the design and development of automated and manual test cases for coding and marking equipment. You will support new product developments to cover new features and maintain the test coverage and regression testing for the line. You will also be involved in investigating issues at both internal and customer levels.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated and manual test cases for coding and marking equipment.
- Support new product developments to cover new features and maintain test coverage and regression testing.
- Investigate issues at internal and customer levels.
Qualifications
- Education (Degree or above) or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in a software test development environment, with the ability to interact with software development engineers and to report to senior leaders clearly and accurately.
- Ability to assimilate product requirements and create solid test cases that increase quality assurance.
Desirable skills and knowledge
- C# .NET Framework
- FitNesse
- TestComplete (VBScript)
- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, TCL, etc.)
- Familiarity with Linux environments
- .NET Core/ASP.NET
- HTTP/REST/SOAP
- Understanding of Azure Pipelines or GitHub Actions CI/CD
- Understanding of Ethernet communication protocols
- Ability to create physical test harnesses, including: understanding electrical schematics and reading data sheets; Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or PLC programming
