This client facing role is accountable across a portfolio of FNZ Clients for the ownership and delivery of the overarching Test strategy and Test Approach as well as ensuring consistent and productive QA/Testing Process and Procedures for each project. The Portfolio Test Manager will be responsible for leading the Project Test Managers/Leads, managing test risks, issues, timelines and quality as well as providing oversight of all FNZ and Client testing across a portfolio of projects. Working from within the Testing Practice, this role would also work closely with the Head of Testing, Project Management, Delivery Management, Infrastructure and Release Management functions across multiple projects to ensure on time quality delivery in compliance with the FNZ SDLC.

Specific Role Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Management: Stakeholder management and ensuring overall client satisfaction across all projects/areas covered within the Portfolio. Working directly with FNZ clients, managing client issues and concerns and effectively dealing with escalations. Providing progress updates to key stakeholders on portfolio delivery, resource performance, KPIs and continuous improvement progress. Work with the Head of Testing, Testing Practice, Project Managers, Delivery Managers and Test Leads on resourcing, risks, issues, timelines and have oversight of all the testing. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders around testing and quality and drive improvements through the Testing Practice internally and externally.
  • Delivery Management: Take ownership of the test estimation Process and deliver estimates as per the defined SDLC. Ownership of overarching Test strategies and Test Approach for the Project Portfolio. Ensuring QA/Testing Process and Procedures are followed across each project and team. Compliance with the Testing Framework, including standards, processes, tools, test plans, cases and templates across projects. Engage with clients to agree QA engagement model and test strategy. Ensure that testing artefacts required to support contracted end-client deliverables are produced in accordance with agreed plans.
  • Quality Management: Effective and regular communication internally and externally. Test deliverables to be on time and to quality targets defined. Work to continuously improve the testing and quality practices already in place to achieve a greater end result. Working with the Testing Practice to identify and roll out test process improvement initiatives across the wider delivery portfolio. Take ownership of Test Quality Gateways, ensure and measure ongoing compliance.
  • Governance & Control: Test governance to be managed via agreed metrics driven reporting. Timely reporting to Delivery Management/Head of Testing on portfolio/project progress against plans. Testing Quality metrics ownership and reporting. Ownership of Quality and productivity uplift. Risk and Issues management within the portfolio. Escalation to Project Team/Manager/Testing Practice on Risk and Issues that impact on Test Plan delivery. Management of Change to the Change Management process. Ensure that test environments are booked in a timely manner by liaising with the appropriate groups across IT. Sign off entry and exit criteria for all test phases. Oversight and approval of Project Test Exit Reports.
  • Team Management: Matrix management of project Test Managers/AT Leads. Management, review and induction of new team members. Manage resource planning for portfolio, escalating as required. Provide coaching and training to Test Managers/AT Leads to uplift capability and productivity. Mentor Team members in QA Best Practice, Tools and training across projects.

Experience required: Career test professional with strong background in Financial Services. Extensive experience of working in client facing test delivery/engagement roles. Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
