Role Description
We are looking for a Governance & Control Transformation Lead to support the delivery of our Global Finance Transformation Program β org size (c.250 people). This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in improving our finance control environment through transformation of our processes whilst working across functional and regional teams to improve our operating model, find opportunities to improve how we deliver finance services and be part of developing the transformation delivery plan over the next c. 3 years.
Operating in a dynamic and complex global environment, this role will focus on elevating finance controls leveraging innovation, data, and automation to strengthen internal governance and enable smarter, faster decision making. The role will also cover strategic transformation areas including organizational transformation initiatives.
The role will span the over the central Group Finance Function and Regional CFO finance areas as the Lead strategic controls transformation partner for the Group CFO. The individual will support the controls plan development and execution roadmap including transformation steerco governance.
Specific Role Responsibilities:
Finance Governance and Policy Management

Analyse current state governance framework and define target state, incl. steps to achieve target state.

Develop and maintain group-wide financial governance frameworks and policies to be adopted across functions and regions.

Ensure adherence to FNZ corporate financial policies and drive consistency in financial practices, reporting, and controls.

Introduce a monthly controls and governance meeting to support CFO connectivity and oversight of key finance risks / control issues / remediation actions.
Internal Controls and Risk Management

Identify areas of improvement and take steps to implement improvements.

Lead risk assessments for specific areas of concern, identifying and mitigating control weaknesses.

Collaborate with internal audit, external audit and compliance teams to address financial risks identified (in collaboration and partnership with senior functional heads)
Internal Controls Partnering

Key controls partner to regional CFOβs and Functional Finance Heads incl. connectivity to FNZ risk and compliance functions.

Leverage existing localised governance frameworks and determine appropriate escalation mechanisms at CFO level.
Governance Framework Implementation

Drive implementation of best practices in corporate governance across all entities/teams

Lead governance reviews, ensuring proper delegation of authority and segregation of duties.
Collaborating and Stakeholder Engagement

Act as a trusted advisor to CFO and se, finance leadership, and executive teams.

Provide training and guidance to regional and local finance teams on governance matters.
Group Finance Transformation support

Support the group wide transformation
Project and Change Management

Lead finance governance aspects of strategic transformation projects, M&A, or system implementations.

Drive continuous improvement in financial control frameworks using technology and automation.
Experience required
Primary requirements:

A qualified professional (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)

Significant post-qualification experience, ideally within internal audit, business controls, or risk & assurance β preferably in a Big 4, financial services or complex matrix organisation

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical data and business understanding β making the complex clear

A logical, analytical mindset, with the confidence to challenge, influence, and guide senior management
Secondary requirements

Big 4 consultancy experience

MBA qualification is a plus but not essential

Experience in a FinTech finance team
