FNZ is undergoing a period of significant transformation, making this an exceptional time to join the group tax team. Tax is highly visible, well‑respected and embedded in the business, playing a key role in shaping commercial outcomes, enabling change and supporting growth across a complex international footprint.
This is a senior, stretching role for an experienced tax professional who wants breadth, influence and ownership. While the environment is demanding, the work is genuinely interesting and the tax team is trusted to operate with judgement, autonomy and commercial awareness.
Over time, and subject to performance, the role is expected to take on greater leadership of the group’s direct tax agenda, with the opportunity to progress into a broader leadership position within the tax function (Head of Direct Tax). Progression is merit‑based and earned through impact, capability and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
Core Responsibilities- International tax leadership & projects
- Play a central role in major international tax projects, restructurings, acquisitions/divestments and entry into new markets.
- Provide senior tax input into commercial negotiations and strategic business initiatives.
- Operate as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders across finance, legal, HR and the wider business.
- Support the business in responding to changes in the international tax landscape.
- Work collaboratively with the tax team to develop uses for technology and AI.
- Hold overall responsibility for the group’s global corporate tax compliance framework, ensuring timely and accurate delivery across jurisdictions.
- Line manage two tax professionals based in India, providing leadership, coaching and clear prioritisation.
- Own relationships with external advisers supporting global compliance and reporting.
- Take a leading role in setting, evolving and embedding the group’s global transfer pricing policy.
- Support global transfer pricing compliance and documentation, ensuring consistency with the business model.
- Act as a senior technical escalation point on complex direct tax matters and emerging risks.
- Take increasing ownership of the group’s direct tax agenda as experience and impact are demonstrated.
- Support the Group Head of Tax on senior decision‑making, governance and stakeholder engagement.
- Help shape the future structure and capability of the tax function in line with business change.
- ACA / CA and/or CIOT qualified with significant post‑qualification experience.
- Strong background in international and corporate tax, with exposure to global compliance and complex projects.
- Experience leading teams or managing offshore / remote resources.
- Commercial judgement, resilience and confidence operating in a demanding environment.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to translate complexity into practical outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders.
- Adaptable, resilient and motivated by working in a changing environment.
- Demonstrated readiness to take on broader leadership responsibility over time.
