We are looking for a Solutions Architect to consult with clients, ensuring high‑quality designs that are practical, deliverable and maintain the integrity of FNZ’s products and services, helping clients meet their business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to business requirements and ensure the underlying business problem is understood throughout FNZ.
  • Produce technical and functional designs that fulfil the requirements, are commercially viable and technically achievable.
  • Participate throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure the project stays true to the design vision and the client’s needs.
  • Maintain the functional integrity of the primary areas of the delivery team.
  • Act as subject matter expert for nominated areas of the delivery team.
  • Gather, review, validate and provide feedback on requirements to ensure they fully express the underlying business need, incorporate non‑functional requirements, and can be answered by development consistent with existing architecture and product roadmap.
  • Own the production and documentation of designs, ensuring they meet functional, technical, non‑functional requirements, are fully documented following FNZ standards, utilize the technology framework, are traceable to requirements, are usable, consistent with FNZ architectures, correctly use existing software components, and are reviewed with constructive feedback.
  • Participate in project build and delivery: conduct design walkthroughs, lead estimation sessions, provide client walkthroughs and demos, support testing and implementation, and amend designs during build or test phases.
  • Support the sales and marketing team throughout the sales process, including software demonstrations and product webinars.
  • Assist Delivery and Project Managers in project planning and mentor junior team members.
  • Fulfil the Product Owner role on Scrum projects and raise issues promptly with stakeholders.
  • Document existing designs within an FNZ product where such documentation does not already exist.
  • Devise and deliver training courses in areas of expertise.
  • Assist the production support team in triage of client support issues and mentor junior members.

Essential Requirements

  • Significant relevant prior development experience in RPG and Java (5+ years).
  • Customer‑facing experience.
  • Significant experience with Figaro (5+ years) in development or consultancy.
  • Significant knowledge of the financial industry.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members.
  • Confident and able to take initiative in a client‑ and delivery‑focused environment.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Excellent organisational, administrative and time‑management skills.
  • Strong team communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clients.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Superior analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
