To lead outbound sales efforts by actively hunting for new business opportunities in the FinTech sector. This role is focused on identifying and engaging potential clients through market research, networking, and industry events.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Hunting & Lead Generation: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across financial institutions, startups, and digital platforms. Conduct market research to uncover trends, target segments, and emerging FinTech needs. Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads using CRM tools and outbound strategies.
- Forge and Maintain Strong Client Relationships: Engage directly with investment professionals of all levels and seniority at financial institutions to understand their most pressing challenges. Build strong rapport with prospects and establish yourself as a credible domain and product expert able to partner with them to drive value from inception through to close.
- Industry Engagement & Networking: Attend FinTech conferences, trade shows, and networking events to source leads and build brand visibility. Represent the company externally, initiating conversations with potential clients and partners. Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, influencers, and decision‑makers. Develop an in-depth knowledge of regional business and competitor landscape, including strengths, weaknesses and coverage. Conduct targeted market research to understand SME pain points, outsourcing trends, and emerging opportunities in the UK market.
- Sales Execution: Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach to deal closure. Deliver tailored pitches and product demos that address client pain points and showcase value. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and client satisfaction. Contribute innovative ideas that anticipate, and address client needs.
- Reporting & Feedback: Track and report on lead generation activities, conversion rates, and sales performance. Provide insights from market interactions to inform product development and marketing strategies. Maintain accurate records of all sales activities in the CRM system.
Experience Required
- Evidence of success in building and maintaining a broad network of internal and external stakeholder relationships leading to commercial opportunities.
- Track record of successfully identifying new commercial/sales opportunities and capitalizing on them.
- High level of understanding of country and regulatory principles and rules.
- Advanced communication and influencing skills and the ability to convince through personal credibility.
- Goal/target‑oriented, self‑motivated, ability to work independently.
- 2‑5 years of experience in outbound sales or business development, ideally within Financial Services.
- Proven success in lead generation through networking and market engagement.
- Familiarity with financial services, digital payments, open banking, or embedded finance.
