About FNZ and the Team

You’ll be joining the Figaro Release Operations team, part of FNZ’s Operational Support function. We’re responsible for delivering software releases to clients, making sure everything is tested, documented, and ready to go. We also support the environments and tools used by our development and testing teams.

Role Overview

As a Junior Release Engineer, you’ll help deliver software releases across FNZ Figaro platforms, working closely with internal teams across Delivery, Product, and Support, and occasionally with our clients’ technical teams. You’ll gain hands‑on experience in deployment processes, cloud environments, and release management practices. You’ll be supported in developing your technical skills while contributing to real releases and learning how to improve processes over time.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Release & Deployment Support
    • Assist with deploying FNZ Figaro software to internal and client environments
    • Support release activities across cloud and on‑prem environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM)
    • Help maintain and run deployment tools and scripts
    • Carry out routine application and environment checks
  • Change & Release Processes
    • Help create and update release documentation (release notes, plans, runbooks)
    • Support release planning activities, including pre‑checks and post‑release validation
    • Learn and follow FNZ change management processes
  • Learning & Continuous Improvement
    • Contribute ideas to improve release processes and automation
    • Gain exposure to DevOps tools and ways of working
    • Support small improvements and internal projects
  • Team & Support
    • Work closely with experienced engineers and learn from the team
    • Help investigate and resolve basic technical issues
    • Provide support to internal teams where needed
    • Participate in team activities and occasional out‑of‑hours release support (with guidance)

What We’re Looking For

  • Skills & Experience
    • A degree in a scientific or technical discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or similar)
    • Strong people skills, with the ability to build relationships and provide great customer service
    • Familiarity with tools like JIRA or Confluence is helpful but not essential
    • Basic knowledge of SQL or scripting is a plus
