The GSS Finance Business Partner will be a key strategic advisor within the Group Shared Services division, reporting directly to the GSS and Finance Chief of Staff Director. This role will serve as a crucial link between the finance function and Functional Exco Leadership, providing financial insight, analysis, and strategic guidance to drive business performance and decision‐making.
The Finance Business Partner will play an integral role in building the finance function and shaping the financial strategy of GSS, with responsibility for delivering key finance support and performance insights that align with the function's strategic objectives. They will translate complex financial data into actionable business insights, enabling senior leadership to make informed decisions about resource allocation, investment opportunities, and operational efficiency.
In addition to providing strategic financial support, the Finance Business Partner will drive the development and implementation of robust financial processes and controls within GSS Finance, ensuring that financial management practices support the division's growth ambitions and align with FNZ Group requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a trusted financial advisor to the GSS Exco leadership team, providing strategic guidance and financial expertise to support functional decision‐making.
- Partner with GSS functional leaders to understand their business challenges and opportunities, developing tailored financial solutions to address their specific needs.
- Challenge assumptions and provide constructive feedback on business cases, ensuring financial discipline while supporting innovation and growth.
- Lead the development and maintenance of financial forecasts, budgets, and long‐term financial projections for GSS.
- Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning processes, coordinating inputs from across the division and wider Finance including regions.
- Develop insightful financial analysis that identifies trends, opportunities, and risks, enabling proactive management action.
- Create and present comprehensive financial reports to senior leadership, highlighting key performance indicators and variances.
- Design and implement effective performance management frameworks that align financial outcomes with strategic objectives.
- Monitor key business metrics and provide regular performance updates to leadership, identifying areas requiring attention.
- Lead financial reviews with business stakeholders, facilitating productive discussions on performance improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain dynamic financial models that simulate different scenarios and support strategic decision‐making.
- Lead financial assessment of potential functional optimisation opportunities including org design and non‐people costs.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and controls, providing guidance to business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the wider FNZ Finance function to implement consistent financial practices and reporting standards.
- Identify and implement best‐practice financial management approaches, adapted to the specific needs of GSS.
The ideal candidate will be a commercially astute finance professional with a strong strategic mindset and excellent stakeholder management skills. They will have the credibility to influence at senior levels and the analytical capability to translate complex financial data into meaningful business insights. They will also:
- Hold a degree in Accounting or related field with several years of finance experience, preferably within the technology sector.
- MBA qualification is a plus but not essential.
- Have financial modelling skills and the ability to develop insights / analyses that drive strategic decision‐making.
- Possess strong commercial acumen with experience in supporting business growth through insightful financial analysis and guidance.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present complex financial information effectively to non‐financial stakeholders.
- Have experience in supporting shared service functions, with an understanding of the financial challenges and opportunities in these areas.
- Show proven ability to build strong relationships across organizational boundaries and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
