Fnatic’s Partnerships function has a vision to shape and set the standards for how brands engage in the new world of sports entertainment. As Partnerships Director, you’ll play a key role in achieving this vision and connecting household-name brands to the growing esports audience of Gen Z and Millennials; and driving Fnatic's Business Development and Partner Success teams to habitually overdeliver.
You’ll oversee and support the team in closing significant new brand partnerships, work closely with internal teams to maximise Fnatic's assets (as well as innovate and create new opportunities), and oversee ongoing partner management that delivers relationships that scale and win industry awards with brands the likes of Sony, Jack Link’s, Amazon, Spotify and more.
Your mission is to:
- Own the Partnerships P&L and Fnatic's global partnerships proposition in general, being directly accountable for setting and achieving annual revenue targets.
- Propose and align on commercial strategy with Fnatic leadership and board, and present roadmap and progress to the company regularly.
- Oversee the development of industry-leading Partner Success and Partner Development teams, shaping a strong team culture that regularly overdelivers.
- Provide a senior presence at key phases in pitching for new business, building confidence in prospective partners in Fnatic’s ability to help them achieve their goals.
- Nurture relationships with senior stakeholders of our brand partners, deepening Fnatic’s connection to their brand and ensuring the partnership grows over time.
- Build Fnatic’s reputation through presence and networking at key B2B/industry events, and seek opportunities to position Fnatic as a thought leader in the esports and digital media landscape.
- Regularly review team incentive schemes and ensure they drive intended behaviours.
- Work closely with Fnatic’s Marketing and Pro-Gaming teams to ensure Fnatic's commercial offering is sustainable and contractual commitments are able to be fulfilled.
- Support Commercial talent acquisition efforts, leading on candidate assessment and providing appropriate feedback.
- Be instrumental in having Fnatic's brand partnerships deliver innovative activations and win industry awards.
- Own new commercial projects as agreed with leadership, exploring new asset opportunities for Fnatic to take to market.
- Contribute to the evolution of Fnatic's CSR strategy and ensure the commercial strategy is aligned with this.
- Contribute to the broader growth of Fnatic as a senior leader within the business.
We’re looking for:
- Extensive leadership and development of commercial teams in rights-holder or agency environments.
- Understanding of trends in gaming, youth culture and media consumption.
- Proven sales ability and understanding of how to value and present digital media properties.
- Strategic thinking on how brands can engage with audiences balanced with maximising return on a variety of assets.
- Track record of securing 7-figure brand partners and maintaining long-term relationships.
- Willingness to travel and represent Fnatic domestically and abroad.
- Well-established network of decision-makers within tier 1 global brands.
- Relentless energy and drive to push team to overdeliver on targets.
- A compelling presenter who can articulate a strong vision.
- Comfort with data and ability to present insights articulately.
- Creativity and ability to participate in ideation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English, additional languages desirable.
What we have to offer:
- The chance to learn from an ambitious and super creative team, and enjoy the buzz of our fast-paced business.
- Hybrid onsite/remote work policy.
- Private medical insurance (Vitality).
- Employee Assistance Programme (Health Assured).
- Enhanced parental leave policy.
- Eyecare vouchers.
- Cycle to work scheme.
- Self-development book requests for the Fnatic Library.
- Fnatic shop staff discount.
- Fruit, drinks and snacks available daily in the office.
