Our client is looking for an experienced Sales and Trading Lead to join their commercial team based in West Midlands, UK. This role will report directly into the Head of Sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an effective UK/IRE & EU sales strategy that drives sales and maximises company profit.
- Develop relationships with the import supply base in the UK & Europe.
- Negotiate pricing with customers and suppliers to achieve the best result for the company, taking into consideration all factors when setting price levels.
- Regular customer communication and attend meetings as required.
- Manage trading offers end to end, sending daily availabilities to key retail customers.
- Build an understanding of market conditions by daily communication with suppliers and customers, capitalising on market opportunities wherever possible.
- Understand customers' stock levels to minimise any overstocks and manage any issues accordingly with them.
- Manage and minimise any customer claims due to quality issues on arrival.
- Ensure adherence to company procedures.
- Liaise with the company departments on a regular basis as required.
- Attend in person or via Teams or similar any internal or external meetings.
- Resolve or highlight any payment issues with customers within the company procedure.
- Ensure all sales orders are entered onto Prophet in a timely manner.
Key Competencies
- Strong experience within the FMCG chilled import industry, ideally in produce.
- Experience in a Sales or Commercial Role within the UK FMCG or Fresh Produce Industry.
- Excellent track record in Sales and Procurement.
- Experience working with leading customers in retail or foodservice.
- Hardworking and honest outlook.
- Contribute and work effectively within a team.
- Confident and professional negotiator.
- Able to adhere to the values and mission of the company.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to manage change and comply with internal and external business processes.
- Competence in Microsoft Office products.
The offer is made up of the following:
- Base Salary: £40 - £50k per annum DOE.
- Car Allowance (£6,000 PA).
- Bonus.
- Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.
- 25 days holiday per holiday year which runs October to September.
