Are you an experienced Fresh Produce trader looking for greater autonomy, flexibility and the opportunity to make a real impact? We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established international Fresh Produce business that works with global growers and customers across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an ambitious Sales & Procurement Manager to join their commercial team, with work options to suit Office, Hybrid or Remote.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in both buying and selling fresh produce who enjoys building long-term relationships, identifying commercial opportunities and taking ownership of their category.

The Role

This is an opportunity to use what you have gathered over the years to bring your portfolio of Growers/Suppliers and Customers into a business environment with an unparalleled level of autonomy. You will manage your business unit with the large company support network and senior management to aid the unit’s success. You will bring and develop your business as a serious addition to the UK Company’s current product categories with all the benefits of strong cash flow, inspiring leadership and market presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embed your current business into the company with a plan to drive your categories to new heights.
  • Source and procure fresh produce from UK and international growers.
  • Grow sales by identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements with suppliers and customers.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing and availability.
  • Work closely with operations to ensure excellent customer service and supply.
  • Deliver profitable growth across your product categories.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is commercially minded, highly motivated and passionate about Fresh Produce. You’ll ideally have:

  • 3-5+ years’ experience within the Fresh Produce industry.
  • A proven track record in both procurement/buying and sales/trading.
  • Strong commercial awareness and excellent negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing Fresh Produce categories.
  • The confidence to build lasting customer and supplier relationships.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Spanish language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
