We are seeking a commercially strong and hands-on Retail Director to lead our retail operations across the UK and US markets. This is a key leadership role within a fast-growing international fashion brand, ideal for someone with a strong fast-fashion background who thrives in a high-speed, trend-driven and expansion-focused environment. You will play a critical role in driving store performance, building scalable retail structures, and supporting new market growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive retail performance across the UK and US, with full accountability for sales, KPIs, and operational excellence.
- Lead multi-site store operations, ensuring strong execution across staffing, VM, stock flow, and customer experience.
- Implement and optimise fast-fashion operating rhythms (e.g., weekly trading reviews, rapid stock rotation, fast replenishment).
- Partner closely with Buying and Merchandising teams to ensure product-market fit, reacting quickly to sales and customer trends.
- Analyse weekly and daily sales data to identify opportunities and take immediate action to drive sell-through and margin.
- Support new store openings and market expansion, including building teams, setting up processes, and driving early-stage performance.
- Benchmark competitors and translate insights into actionable strategies for local markets.
- Build and develop a strong retail leadership pipeline, coaching Store Managers and Area Managers to deliver consistent results.
- Establish clear and scalable SOPs to support a growing store network.
- Ensure compliance with UK and US employment regulations and retail best practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years’ experience in fast-fashion retail, with at least 4–5 years in a multi-site leadership role.
- Background in brands such as ZARA, H&M, or similar high-volume, trend-led retailers is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of fast-fashion trading logic (e.g., sell-through, stock turn, weekly KPI cadence).
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and improving store performance across multiple locations.
- Experience in new market entry, store openings, or scaling retail operations is a strong advantage.
- Highly commercial, data-driven, and action-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a hands-on approach.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and influence teams across different markets.
- Fluent English required; Mandarin is a plus.
