If this sounds like you, we are looking for an Administration and Communications Officer to join our friendly team at Ladywell Convent, Godalming. You will be a key team member providing administrative support as well as producing high-quality communications to reach a global audience. This is a vital role across our three charities, interacting with our Trustees, Mission Partners (our staff) and Sisters based in the UK and around the world.
The Administration and Communications Officer's duties include:
- Providing administrative and secretarial support to the Congregational Leadership Team, Directors Leadership Team, Mission Director and CIO Trustees
- Managing quarterly meeting cycles; organising meeting calendars; preparing agendas; attending meetings to take minutes and monitoring post meeting actions
- Creating, preparing and disseminating regular communications across the Congregation and amongst Mission Partners
- Management of the FMDM Facebook and other social media platforms, providing engaging content within the values of FMDM
- Ensuring the review, update and sign-off of policies and procedures, including supporting the management of data in line with GDPR
- Acting as administrator for our IT services, with support from our external provider
- Providing basic training on IT systems to Sisters and Mission Partners as required
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be proactive and able to balance multiple priorities
- Have experience of managing diaries, meeting agendas and be able to take minutes
- Be creative and enjoy finding new ways to engage others with the work of the FMDM through internal and external communications, including social media
- Have a keen eye for detail and the ability to maintain accuracy
- Work well with others as well as being able to manage your own workload
- Be willing to learn and develop new skills
- Have a willingness to be helpful in all that you do
The Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood is an international religious congregation of Catholic Sisters who proclaim the joy and freedom of the Gospel in the spirit of St Francis and St Clare of Assisi. Our global projects include hospitals, schools and peace initiatives. Ladywell is home to our Sisters who have retired from active ministry having spent their lives working in places where Christ's love has been needed most. Ladywell is also the home of our Franciscan Centre which offers a prayerful, hospitable space for visitors to learn more about Franciscan theology and to spend time to reflect whilst on guided retreats. The Administration and Communications Officer fulfils a vital role in continuing the vision of the Sisters and engaging our Mission Partners in all the work we do.
