Our client is a leading supplier of renowned branded healthcare and beauty products, with a strong foothold in the Grocery, Convenience, Pharmacy, and Wholesale channels. They are experiencing substantial growth and are seeking a National Account Manager to join the team on a permanent basis.
As National Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing business within key Discount Retail accounts, including B&M, Home Bargains, Poundland, Lidl, and Boyes. You will drive growth across a portfolio of branded healthcare products, lead the development of account strategies, create and deliver Joint Business Plans, and ensure promotional activity and new product listings maximise business potential. This role also includes management responsibility for two direct reports (Key Account Managers), providing coaching, development, and support to maximise team performance. You will negotiate favourable trading terms, manage promotional budgets, and monitor account performance, while building strong relationships with customers at multiple levels. You will collaborate with marketing, sales planning, and finance to ensure stock availability, deliver budgeted sales, and identify opportunities to further strengthen market share.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ national account management experience within branded FMCG.
- Proven track record of delivering account-specific Joint Business Plans.
- Strong commercial acumen, including ROI calculations, promotional evaluation, and sales forecasting.
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
- Confident negotiation skills, with experience engaging up to trade director level.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint to an intermediate level.
Location
This is a fully home-based role with travel to customers; you will typically visit head office once a month (South East England).
