GVA Search is proud to be partnering with a fast-growing leading retailer in London, who is looking to recruit a pro-active and results orientated Management Accountant to join their high-performing finance function. This is a pivotal role in the business and will involve a wide range of financial responsibilities, including transactional processing, in-depth financial analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation.

Key Role and Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct comprehensive month-end P&L analysis, providing insightful commentary on financial performance.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage utility expenses (electricity, gas, water), serving as the primary point of contact for energy providers.
  • Oversee accounting for IT systems, digital marketing, and postage & packaging costs.
  • Efficiently manage intercompany transactions, including recharge line coding, invoice verification, and P&L posting.
  • Collaborate with the Distribution Centre Cost Accounting team on monthly accounting and annual cost tracking.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the e-commerce team.
  • Provide regular financial performance reports and analysis to the e-commerce manager.
  • Manage the entire fixed asset lifecycle, including recording, reconciliation, budgeting, depreciation, and impairment reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and implement effective solutions.
  • Support the Financial Controller and Finance Manager with month-end reporting and special projects.

The ideal candidate will be an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or part qualified Management Accountant, preferably with experience gained in the retail or FMCG sector. This role would suit a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to collaborate cross functionally. Experience in accounting and financial analysis is essential, along with proficiency in Excel.
