GVA Search is proud to be partnering with a fast-growing Wine and Spirits leader in London, who is looking to recruit a newly created Financial Controller position. We are looking for a dynamic individual to take charge of the monthly management accounts and lead the way in modernising the finance processes. This is a newly created role that will shape the future of the finance team and drive significant improvements across the business and offers succession planning.
Key Role and Responsibilities Include:
- Ownership of Management Accounts: Lead the production of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting of variances.
- Modernise Finance Processes: Revolutionise our procedures with cutting-edge IT tools to minimise manual work and enhance efficiency.
- Financial Controls: Design, monitor, and implement robust financial controls to mitigate business risks.
- ERP System Accuracy: Ensure all financial information in our ERP system is precise and reconciled, including balance sheet accounts.
- Advanced Reporting: Create and refine annual and monthly reports to highlight results, trends, and forecasts.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Play a crucial role in budgeting, forecasting, and auditing processes.
- Team Support: Mentor junior team members and provide essential support to the Finance Director and Head of Finance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other teams across the organisation, contributing to various financial and analytical tasks.
- Leadership Potential: As the team grows, this role is anticipated to evolve into a management position.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent), with proficiency in management accounting, process improvement, and financial control gained ideally in either FMCG, retail, or the drinks industry. This role would suit an experienced Finance professional who has a natural flair to drive change and process improvements. We are looking for someone who is comfortable challenging the status quo and can work as a champion of change partnering cross-functionally within the business. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with IT tools like Power Pivot, Query, and SQL would be advantageous.
