FMCG jobs is proud to be partnering with a well-established FMCG business based in the Newry area to successfully secure a Financial Controller / Company Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is a hands-on role that will suit someone who enjoys full responsibility for the finance function within a fast-paced, product-led environment. The role offers real scope to make an impact, working closely with the senior leadership team and supporting key decisions with timely, accurate financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts
- Oversee all aspects of statutory company accounts and compliance
- Manage VAT returns, HMRC submissions, and related reporting
- Take ownership of purchase ledger, sales ledger, and credit control
- Complete bank reconciliations, journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Support year-end audit preparation and liaise with external accountants or auditors
- Deliver meaningful insight through ad hoc reporting and analysis to support commercial decision-making
The ideal candidate:
We are looking for a capable, self-sufficient finance professional who is confident managing a broad and varied remit. Ideally, you will have experience in a standalone finance role or within a growing SME, with a strong track record across month-end reporting, VAT, and financial controls. Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics would be a distinct advantage. You will be someone with strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach. Previous experience in an FMCG, food production, or manufacturing environment would be highly desirable.
