We are seeking an experienced and confident Head of Marketing Communications to lead engagement, messaging and stakeholder communications for a national organisation with a clearly defined audience and remit. This is a senior, hands‑on role combining strategic leadership with operational delivery. You will be responsible for turning complex subject matter into clear, compelling and practical communication that drives understanding, engagement and measurable value.
The Role
- Reporting to the Managing Director and sitting on the senior leadership team, you will:
- Develop and deliver a communications and engagement strategy aligned to organisational objectives
- Translate complex information into clear, accessible and actionable messaging
- Plan and deliver a year‑round programme of engagement activity, including events, meetings, digital channels and publications
- Build strong, trusted relationships with members, stakeholders, partners and influencers
- Act as a senior representative for the organisation at external meetings and events
- Monitor reach, engagement and impact, using insight to continuously refine approach
- Lead, mentor and develop a small communications team, setting priorities and standards
- Manage budgets and ensure delivery against agreed plans, timelines and quality expectations
This role requires someone who is equally comfortable shaping strategy, representing an organisation publicly and delivering practical outputs themselves.

Essential experience:
- Senior‑level communications or engagement leadership experience
- Proven ability to communicate complex or technical subject matter clearly and effectively

- A practical, solutions‑focused mindset and willingness to be hands‑on
