Position Overview
The key focus of this role is to lead and develop the internal sales team, creating a consistent flow of qualified opportunities and helping turn activity into real revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing the internal sales team
- Setting clear KPIs around prospecting, lead generation, and opportunity creation
- Embedding a structured sales methodology to improve qualification and conversion
- Leading from the front on outbound activity across new and existing accounts
- Building individual development plans and supporting career progression
- Keeping CRM data, forecasts, and opportunity records accurate and up to date
- Working closely with Account Managers, Customer Success, Product, and technical teams
- Reporting on performance, pipeline health, and activity levels
- Recruiting and onboarding new team members as the function grows
- Building a positive, high-energy culture with clear accountability
Qualifications
- Experience in BDR, SDR, internal sales, or lead generation within software or technology
- Has managed, coached, or mentored salespeople
- Can create structure, set clear expectations, and improve team performance
- Understands sales methodologies, qualification, and pipeline management
- Comfortable leading from the front and staying close to prospecting activity
- Works confidently with CRM systems and sales reporting
- Strong communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills
- Proactive, target-driven, and genuinely motivated by developing others
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial software (not essential)
