We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Pharmaceutical Wholesale Manager to lead and expand our wholesale distribution operations in Libya. This role is critical in building a large-scale pharmaceutical supply network, managing procurement, regulatory compliance, and distribution across pharmacies, hospitals, and government tenders. You will act as the key link between international manufacturers, UK operations, and Libyan market distribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Wholesale & Distribution Management
- Oversee end-to-end pharmaceutical wholesale operations in Libya
- Build and manage a nationwide distribution network (pharmacies, hospitals, clinics)
- Develop relationships with key buyers, government entities, and healthcare institutions
- Procurement & Supply Chain
- Source pharmaceutical and healthcare products from UK/EU suppliers
- Manage imports, logistics, and customs clearance into Libya
- Ensure consistent product availability and stock planning
- Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Libyan pharmaceutical regulations
- Work alongside international standards (GDP, MHRA-aligned processes)
- Manage product registrations, documentation, and approvals
- Business Development
- Identify and secure large-scale supply opportunities (including tenders)
- Expand product portfolio across: Pharmaceuticals (branded & generics), OTC medicines, Dermatology & personal care, Medical supplies
- Operations & Team Management
- Build and manage local teams (sales, warehouse, admin)
- Implement structured processes for stock, sales, and reporting
- Coordinate closely with UK head office
Requirements
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical wholesale or distribution
- Strong understanding of the Libyan healthcare/pharma market
- Experience dealing with suppliers, distributors, or government tenders
- Knowledge of import/export and supply chain operations
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in pharmaceuticals
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Ability to operate in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Background working with international pharmaceutical suppliers
- Experience in large-scale distribution or tender contracts
- Understanding of GDP (Good Distribution Practice)
