An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a well-established and growing building services business. This is a key position within the organisation, offering the chance to take ownership of health, safety, and compliance across both office and operational environments, while playing a pivotal role in shaping and driving a strong safety culture.
The Role
You will be responsible for leading the company’s HSE function, ensuring full compliance with legislation while continuously improving standards across the business. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and maintaining ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 systems
- Leading internal and external audits
- Providing expert HSE advice across all levels of the business
- Driving a positive safety culture and improving engagement
- Conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Reviewing and developing policies, procedures, and systems
- Carrying out regular site inspections and compliance checks
- Delivering training and toolbox talks
- Supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence
About You
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, confident, and able to influence at all levels. You will have:
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager or similar role
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and compliance systems
- Experience working within engineering, M&E, FM or industrial environments
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A hands-on approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- IOSH (or working towards)
- Knowledge of ISO standards (9001 / 14001 / 45001) advantageous
