Kirkcaldy, Fife

Up to £55,000 basic + AP Allowance + On-Call Allowance

Permanent

This isn’t just another Electrical Manager position. We’re looking for an experienced electrical professional who wants to take ownership of the technical delivery of a large, complex and critical site in Fife, leading the electrical function while remaining close to the technical side of the operation. It’s an opportunity for someone with a strong electrical background to step into a key position where you’ll have genuine responsibility for HV/LV infrastructure, electrical compliance, maintenance delivery and the engineers operating across the site. You’ll also form part of the site’s Authorised Person team, with an additional allowance payable for AP responsibilities, alongside a separate allowance for participating in the management on-call rota.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting the electrical engineering resource across HV, LV and associated electrical systems
  • Ensuring critical electrical infrastructure remains safe, compliant and operational with downtime kept to a minimum
  • Overseeing planned, reactive, corrective and remedial maintenance
  • Managing Safe Systems of Work, Permit to Work and technical compliance
  • Supporting and managing Authorised Person and Competent Person responsibilities
  • Managing specialist contractors, suppliers and additional/lifecycle works
  • Ensuring CAFM information, asset registers and maintenance records remain accurate
  • Leading on electrical compliance, audits, risk assessments and statutory documentation
  • Managing performance, development and training across the team
  • Working closely with the client and other key stakeholders on site
  • Supporting budgets, forecasting, reporting and the wider commercial performance of the contract

The position operates within a live healthcare environment where maintaining critical services is essential, so you’ll be joining a team where the technical decisions you make genuinely matter.

What we’re looking for:

We’re particularly interested in speaking with experienced Electrical Managers, Technical Services Managers, Electrical Supervisors or senior electrical professionals who are ready for the next step. You’ll need a recognised electrical qualification and a strong technical background, ideally with an HNC/HND in an Electrical discipline and/or being a fully qualified Electrician. The role requires at least five years’ post-qualification experience in a similar environment, along with previous management experience within hard services. Experience within healthcare, hospitals or another critical environment would be particularly relevant but is desirable rather than essential. Knowledge of SHTM electrical guidance and existing LV/HV Authorised Person experience would also be advantageous.

The package:

  • Up to £55,000 basic salary
  • Additional AP allowance for forming part of the Authorised Person team
  • Additional on-call allowance for participation in the management rota
  • Permanent position
  • Fife-based site

If you’re an experienced electrical professional who enjoys the technical side of engineering but is ready to take greater ownership of people, compliance and service delivery, this could be a very good next move.
