We are working with a well-established and reputable Building Services / Facilities Management company who are looking to appoint an experienced General Maintenance Operative to support two fixed sites in the Leith area. This is a great opportunity for a reliable, hands-on FM all-rounder looking for a stable role, good work-life balance, and a supportive employer.

The Role

  • Carrying out general maintenance and minor repair works across two commercial sites
  • Planned and reactive maintenance duties
  • Basic fault finding and repairs across building services
  • First-line response to maintenance issues raised by site users
  • Working across a range of trades including:
  • Basic plumbing (leaks, taps, toilets, valves)
  • Joinery (doors, locks, fixtures)
  • Painting & decorating
  • Minor electrical tasks (non-technical, where permitted)
  • Liaising with site teams and reporting issues requiring specialist contractors
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with FM procedures
  • What We’re Looking For

    • Proven experience as a General Maintenance Operative / FM Technician / Handyperson
    • Strong all-round maintenance skillset
    • Background within Facilities Management or Building Services
    • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
    • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
    • Strong communication and customer service skills
    • Full UK driving licence
