Make a difference every day. At FM Conway, our HGV Fitters play an important role in keeping our fleet moving. By maintaining and repairing our HGV and LGV vehicles, you'll help ensure the essential services that keep communities connected are delivered safely, efficiently and reliably.

We're looking for an experienced HGV Fitter to join our Plant and Workshop team based at our busy Dartford workshop. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity where you'll work on a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles, using your technical expertise to keep our vehicles operating at their very best. No two days are the same. Whether you're carrying out routine servicing, diagnosing complex faults or completing major repairs, you'll finish each day knowing your work has made a real difference to keeping our operations running safely and efficiently.

As one of our HGV Fitters, you will:

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs across our fleet of HGV and LGV vehicles.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, completing repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
  • Accurately complete maintenance records and associated workshop documentation.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within the workshop team, supporting colleagues where required.
  • Follow company procedures, risk assessments and health and safety legislation at all times.
  • Promote a positive safety culture by identifying and challenging unsafe practices.
  • Help ensure our fleet remains compliant, reliable and ready to support projects across the business.

You'll ideally have:

  • A full UK driving licence.
  • City & Guilds Levels 1, 2 and 3 in Motor Vehicle Maintenance, or an equivalent NVQ qualification.
  • Experience maintaining HGV and LGV vehicles.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
