This is a permanent, full time position based from our head office in Sevenoaks, Kent.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with the Director of Operations to ensure the safe and efficient running of the transport operation
• Responsibility for managing a large team, including compliance managers, transport managers and planners
• Liaising with governing bodies (Logistics UK, CLOCS, LLCS) to represent FM Conway in governance proposals and industry developments
• Ensuring compliance with the company\’s Operator Licence in line with traffic commissioner requirements
• Overseeing the specification and ordering of new Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), liaising with internal business divisions and vehicle manufacturers
• Monitoring Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS) and encounter reports to ensure operational excellence
• Accountable for the division\’s financial performance, including setting strategic budgets and ensuring they are consistently met to drive profitability

Qualifications

You will have extensive experience in managing a large transport fleet and team and a strong background in the transport industry, with in-depth market knowledge. You will hold a valid and up to date Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for Transport Managers and a full UK driving licence. You will have the ability to lead from the front, make strategic decisions, and work collaboratively with key stakeholders.
