Job Description:
FM Conway is recruiting for a passionate and driven Manufacturing Operative Apprentice to join our Aggregate and Asphalt division. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine hands-on training with a nationally recognized manufacturing diploma. You will gain skills in operating asphalt plants, mobile machinery, and managing weighbridge operations. The position is permanent, full-time, based at our Heathrow depot in Hayes.
Applicants must attend an assessment day on Wednesday 23rd July at our Heathrow depot if selected.
Key responsibilities include:
- Learning to operate asphalt plant, loading shovels, and mobile equipment such as telehandlers and skid steers safely and efficiently.
- Utilizing manufacturing techniques learned during training to ensure smooth order processing.
- Conducting routine inspections and basic maintenance, reporting defects accurately.
- Committing to your apprenticeship, completing all required qualifications, attending mandatory events, and developing your skills continuously.
- Following all HSE procedures and maintaining high standards.
- Building positive communication and relationships with colleagues.
Qualifications and experience needed:
Motivated, friendly individuals who enjoy teamwork and initiative. At least 4 GCSEs at Grade E/2 or equivalent, including Maths, English, and Science. A Levels in Science or Engineering are a plus. A full UK driving license is highly desirable.
