FM Conway is currently looking to recruit a Plant Supervisor to join our Aggregate and Asphalt (A&A) division. Based from our Erith Asphalt plant, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing a multi-skilled role that will include operating the asphalt plant, mobile plant, and weighbridge functions, alongside co-ordinating the shift and supervising the site.

The duties of the Plant Supervisor role will include:

  • Supervising and motivating the operational team to achieve excellence and continual improvement both in terms of quality and efficiency
  • Managing stock levels of fuel, constituent and raw materials
  • Ensuring mixing plans are carried out in an effective and cost-effective manner
  • Reporting critical issues in a timely and accurate manner
  • Generating task specific risk assessments and safe working practices
  • Controlling and supervising contractors in accordance with the company’s health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and practices
  • Carrying out all weighbridge functions, including managing the daily delivery schedule and maintaining effective communication with all other team members to ensure all customer needs are met

What skills and experience do you need?

To be considered for our Plant Supervisor role you must have experience with asphalt plant manufacturing operating systems. You will have a good understanding of health and safety practices and legislation and you will have experience operating loading shovels, telehandlers and weighbridges. You will have a strong customer focus, excellent attention to detail and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
