FM Conway is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Aggregate and Asphalt Technical team based at our Wellingborough site. As our Laboratory Technician, you will contribute to the profitability of the business by supporting and monitoring the quality control programme across the department, helping to ensure the highest standards are maintained throughout the production process. This is a full time, permanent role based in Wellingborough.

The duties of the Laboratory Technician role will include:

  • Learning and using both the laboratory information management system and asphalt plant operating system to assist with maintaining recipes
  • Providing support to the technical management team
  • Monitoring and maintaining trend analysis to ensure the plant operates efficiently
  • Ensuring ISO 9001 / FPC quality standards are always complied with
  • Maintaining accurate records of test results, observations and remarks
  • Producing accurate and factual reports for both internal and external clients
  • Reporting incidents in a correct and timely manner
  • Ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with FMC SHEQ policies

What skills and experience do you need?

We are looking for candidates with previous experience in aggregate and asphalt testing. You should have excellent interpersonal skills and hold a full UK driving licence. Strong computer and administrative abilities are essential, along with a flexible approach and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
