FM Conway is currently recruiting for a Highways Maintenance Operative Apprentice to join our Major Projects Division. You will work in a supported learning environment to develop the skills and knowledge required to complete a Level 2 Highways Maintenance Operative qualification. You will work as part of the Major Projects team on various construction projects gaining knowledge and experience in a variety of areas of the industry. This is a full-time permanent position working within the boundaries of the M25 and reporting to Sevenoaks head office as and when required.

The duties of the Highways Maintenance Operative Apprentice role will include:

  • Pursuing your studies to gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours of a highways maintenance operative
  • Being responsible for the successful completion of your apprenticeship and gaining work related qualifications including your End Point Assessment
  • Working with the site team to deliver works required efficiently and to a safe standard
  • Working in conjunction with site team to ensure that all tools and equipment are looked after, stored safely and securely and that any defects are reported to your manager
  • Reporting any incidents, accidents or points of concern to your line manager or the site management
  • Working as part of a team on site as required and take instructions from site management

What skills and experience do you need?

As a Highways Maintenance Operative Apprentice, you will ideally have a grade 4 and above in both Maths and English GCSE. You will be reliable, hardworking and have a genuine interest in the construction industry. Good communication and the ability to follow instructions is also required for this role.
